Our low vision client would like some social support and assistance in the garden. She is a pleasant 92 year old living independently in her own home and would like to maintain this independence. The main aim is to continue doing the things she enjoys, along with remaining active and useful.

No previous experience is necessary, just a little spare time, patience and the willingness to help. The ability to enjoy a cup of tea, conversation, light gardening and absorb a little vitamin D are the main attributes we are looking for. She lives in Labrador and very flexible with days and times. We are looking for a friendly volunteer from the surrounding area once per week to help get her back in the garden for a chat.

Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. We work in partnership with Australians who are blind or have low vision to help them achieve the possibilities they choose in life. No previous experience is required, just some basic garden skills, a little patience and a willingness to help someone in your community.

We are a Centrelink approved organisation and offer a full induction and training package when joining the Vision Australia team.
