Brisbane Coastrek 2019 Event Volunteer

The Fred Hollows Foundation
Logo for The Fred Hollows Foundation

Brisbane Coastrek is a major fundraising event for The Fred Hollows Foundation's sight restoring work on Fri 26th July. Volunteers are the face of the event, so a happy smile and words of encouragement are essential ingredients. Roles are performed on site at the start, checkpoints or the finish line, as well as route marshal roles anywhere along the 60km route between Caloundra, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads. Groups of friends or work mates are able to work together at one site if preferred. You'll have loads of fun in a beautiful location and help The Foundation to restore sight. Some of the options include: - General volunteer at the start\, checkpoints\, or finish line – roles will be rotated and may include: Assisting with team change administration; Start/Finish line support set-up or pack-up; Checkpoint support/set-up and pack-up; and cheering and directing trekkers. - Marshalling on the course: Motivations central! You will be given a map/brief and can provide directions and information to participants out on the trail and assist with road crossings where required\, all the while encouraging and cheering teams as they pass. Great fun to do with a friend. - Volunteer Team Leader:  You will be responsible for allocating volunteer roles\, arranging break\, and working with the Staff Team Leader to arrange help where needed. - You can’t help out on Event Day – there are jobs that need to be done before event day such as a letterbox drop to local residents & businesses letting them know the event is going to be on.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
