- Provide support to the chair within the state committee/board meetings
- Fill in as the chair where required and fulfill the responsibilities as expected as the chair
- Provide direction and leadership to the state committee and members
- Represent the state committee to external parties as required
- Possess business acumen, vision and strategic planning abilities
- Passionate and flexible
- Support in the effective operation and organisation of state committee meetings in support of the chair
- Be acquainted with any reports, correspondence or business which is to be presented at the meeting
- Represent the state committee to the state office and national office
- Attend Special Olympics events, especially those hosted by the region
- Make decisions that are fair and equal to all members
- Be acquainted with Special Olympics terms of reference and member guidelines
- Manage complaints within the State in conjunction with national office
