Leukaemia FoundationRequirements of the Role
- Hold an open current driver’s license and be between 30 and 80 years of age.
- Be confident driving in inner city traffic and have a good knowledge of locations or the ability to read road maps
- Be willing to become familiar with the physical layout of treatment centres of major hospitals
- Be able to provide minimal assistance to patients as outlined in duties when required
- Have good communication and listening skills
- Be sensitive to the needs of our clients and be able to display empathy for their situation
- Be punctual and committed to providing a quality service
- Be able to or willing to learn how to use a mobile phone.
- Be flexible and adaptable with regard to availability for transport requests
Application Process:
- Informal meeting with one of our Transport Coordinator to discuss the role in more detail
- Successfully complete a Workplace Capacity Assessment, Police Check and Drive Module.
- General induction completed with one of our Senior Transport Volunteers to ensure you are familiar and comfortable in the role
