Vinnies Community Support Centres

Community Support Centres are a point of contact for people seeking assistance from the St Vincent de Paul Society. The Centres also provide administrative and practical support to Society members who, through the Society’s home visitation program, support people in their local community who are experiencing hardship or are marginalised.

Mt Pritchard Welfare is looking for people with a sense of social justice to provide services to support people to achieve stability in their lives through empowerment and self-determination As a Volunteer Administration Assistant, you will play a central role in the operations of the Centre, making a significant and valuable contribution to St Vincent de Paul.

The Volunteer Role The Administration Support Volunteer provides full-service reception and office duties including:

  • Welcome clients; general reception and phone skills; book appointments for home visits; work with a database system; familiar with general office equipment; able to communicate with people with a diverse range of issues.
  • Other Admin tasks including abiding by all COVID 19 policy and procedures . Must be able to work well with staff and Members and be willing to follow directives”

The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:

  • Be a people person – welcoming, encouraging and positive;
  • Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society;
  • Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team;
  • Have general administration skills, and a willingness to learn;
  • Be initiative driven, reliable, punctual with a can-do attitude and sound decision-making skills;
  • Be computer literate; and
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;

We welcome those with previous office and general administration experience to share their skills with their fellow volunteers in the Centre.
