An opportunity for people to join our passionate team of volunteers to support vulnerable people through Emergency Relief in Tasmania.

Emergency Relief Van drivers assist with the packing and distribution of food across our sites, and maintaining a safe work environment.

We're looking for motivated volunteers committed to supporting and improving the lives of vulnerable people in the community. If you are good communicator, have regular ongoing availability and a positive can-do attitude, we would like to hear from you. You will be required to lift and transport boxes of up to 15 kilos. Safety equipment such as gloves and trolleys will be provided.

Knowledge and understanding of the factors impacting on the well being of individuals, families and communities will be highly valued.

The Emergency Relief service has sites in Hobart, Cygnet, Glenorchy and Gagebrook.

Uniting is committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, volunteering with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and Working With Children Check (in Victoria) and/or Working With Vulnerable People Check (in Tasmania) prior to commencement in any service or undertaking.
