Event Team Manager - Cancer Council Relay For Life - Joondalup Wanneroo

We are currently seeking an Event Team Manager to assist the Chairperson to develop and lead a strong Event Team and co-manage the successful delivery of Relay for Life Joondalup Wanneroo.

This is a fun and moving annual event that raises vital funds for Cancer Council's research, prevention and support services through a 24 hour community oriented relay. While the event is annual, the team works for most of the year in planning and organising a successful event for over 1,000 attendees. With this year's event coming up on 19-20 October, you have a great opportunity to learn the ropes with the current Event Team Manager then take ownership in the planning and execution of next year's event.

If you're organised, a great communicator, have project or event management abilities and enjoy putting together events and making a difference then we want to hear from you!

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Chairperson who oversees the operation of the entire Relay for Life event
  • Lead a team of 10-20 volunteers team members to fulfil their portfolio requirements
  • Guide and empower fellow volunteers to take ownership of their portfolios and accomplish tasks
  • Required to meet with stakeholders throughout the year
  • Retain, on-board and recruit volunteers
  • Previous experience with Relay For Life or Cancer Council desirable (volunteering, team member etc.)
