Australian Pet Welfare Foundation (APWF) provides evidence-based solutions within the community to save the lives of pets and people. Our primary activity is influencing key stakeholders including government, welfare agencies, veterinary professionals and community leaders. This is achieved by sharing evidenced-based information on best practice to save lives in shelters and pounds through changed policy and legislation.

As a volunteer Board Co-ordinator with APWF you will have the opportunity to work with an experienced Board of Directors in the oversight of projects that save the lives of our furry friends.

Your tasks and activities:

  • Provide effective communication between Executive Director and the Board of Directors
  • Monitor the Board calendar and proactively coordinate the timeline
  • Work with Executive Director and Chair to manage the administration of all board meetings
  • Setting meeting schedules and liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure reports are delivered by deadlines
  • Preparation and distribution of agendas, meeting materials, meeting correspondence and meeting minutes
  • Maintain all Board documents and materials to set procedures

About you:

  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Time management/ability to meet deadlines
  • Proof reading skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ideally some knowledge/experience in supporting senior managers and/or meeting management
