Rovers is the senior youth section of Scouts Australia and contributes to the personal development of young people, through a balance of outdoor, social and community service activities.

Rover Advisers are generally aged 30+ and provide advice, guidance and support to local Rover Units, which are made up of young adults aged 18-25. Whilst previous Scouting or Guiding experience can be useful, it is not essential. Full training is provided.

Each local Rover Unit runs itself, determines its own program and annually elects an executive committee from among its members. The Rover Adviser supports all members of the Unit, but the committee in particular, providing continuity and the benefit of life-experience.

Most Rover Units meet weekly and also undertake a variety of weekend activities. A Rover Adviser may attend each week, or choose to come every few weeks. The level of involvement with weekend activities would be through discussion with the Rovers.
