Jeans for GenesA fantastic opportunity to meet new people and have some fun, while giving back to the community by helping to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Medical Research Institute to support research into birth defects and genetic disorders.
What is Jeans for Genes Day?
1 in 20 kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect. You likely know and care about someone affected. Jeans for Genes Day will be on Friday 2nd August 2019. Every year, hundreds of wonderful volunteers join us to hit the streets, shopping centres and train stations across the country to help raise vital funds for research that will improve lives by finding cures for children’s genetic diseases.
How can I make a difference?
Join the team as a volunteer or Location Leader selling Jeans for Genes Day merchandise, collecting donations and raising awareness in the community. Each volunteer shift is between 2 - 4 hours long (early morning, morning or afternoon) in a location of your choice and anyone of any age can get involved.
Where do we need volunteers?
There are 40+ locations in NSW/Sydney to choose from:
- Sydney CBD
- Northern suburbs
- Inner west and Western suburbs
- Southern suburbs
- Newcastle
What we’re looking for
- Strong communicator and happy interacting with the public
- Comfortable selling merchandise and handling cash
- Enthusiastic and willingness to participate
- Friendly nature and enjoy working in a team
