Assist with the coordination of the social media and marketing campaign of the 2019 Spring Fling Street Festival organised by The Centre a not-for-profit neighbourhood house and adult community education centre, situated in Errol Street, North Melbourne.

The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will be working in conjunction with the Festival Coordinator. This role would be suitable for applicants that are studying/recently completed: Events Management, Professional Communication, Public Relations or Media studies with a major in marketing or advertising or those looking to return to the workforce.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Be responsible for monitoring and tracking various activities outlined in the 2019 Spring Fling Marketing and Communication Plan. Alert responsible parties of pending deadlines and follow up and monitor outcomes.
  2. Take a key role in developing and maintaining the 2019 Spring Fling Street Festival’s social media presence producing content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
  3. Liaise with all Spring Fling staff and volunteer coordinators to develop content based on Spring Fling program activities, events, sponsors and artists for media releases, stories for local and community newspapers and general promotional material.
  4. Take a key role in contributing and developing festival collateral such as posters, t-shirts and flyers.
  5. Take a key role in developing advertising for the festival.
  6. Assist in the recruitment of any additional volunteers needed to help deliver social media, marketing and communication activities
  7. Represent and promote the Spring Fling to outside agencies
  8. Participate in the Spring Fling Planning committee, attend monthly meetings, contribute to content and follow up on leads for promotion and marketing
  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of festival surveys to collect information on the impact, success, issues and outcomes of the festival.
  10. Participate in a debrief session on the Spring Fling Street Festival with The Centre and key stakeholders within 1 month after the event has been held.
  11. Assist with the creation of a detailed evaluation report, which includes recommendations for future events.
