A mentor is an everyday person who likes to help others, especially young people. The simple act of a relaxing walk, a game of basketball or hot chocolate and a laugh can providing opportunity for conversation and connection, making a world of difference to a young person who feels disconnected. You can be this person, the one who provides the opportunity for a young person to be empowered and to begin making positive choices in their life while creating a new potential for themselves. As a mentor, you would be involved in befriending and supporting a young person who is in the care of the Department for Child Protection. You would be providing the young person with a stable and positive role model; someone who takes the time to build a relationship that encourages growth and success in their life. You would need to be able to commit for a minimum of 12 months with hope for a much longer, ongoing connection, catching up with the young person approximately every 2 weeks for 2-6 hours at a time. We will provide training and ongoing support to ensure you are in the best possible place to provide these opportunities for the young person you are matched with.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
