Sunday mornings 9.30am-12.30pm, during the sailing season from September-April every year.
Type of work
- Food Preparation & Service
We have a brand new club kitchen, and will take volunteers through the simple steps of preparing simple lunches and snacks for members and the public. We also welcome new ideas and solutions.
The club covers 100% of the costs involved in canteen food preparation.
During the sailing season each year from September-April, we hold our learn-to-sail and club days every Sunday. We are looking for one or two volunteers to prepare sandwiches and heat pies and sausage rolls to serve to club members and the public.
Duties: shop for lunch preparation; make rolls; heat pies and sausage rolls; serve club members and public.
Skills: no experience necessary.
Benefits: as a small, volunteer-run community organisation, we come together as much to socialise and connect with our local community as we do to sail and impart our knowledge to beginners. When you volunteer for our club, you get a whole new extended 'community family' with it! Located at the picturesque Jamieson Park, it is hard to find a better place to spend your Sunday mornings.
Impact: As a small club, we are heavily reliant on volunteers to keep the club going. We were founded in 1904 on the premise of being a family-orientated club that makes sailing accessible... and we pride ourselves on holding true to that ethos today. The canteen provides a vital service to our members, and supports the club financially.
