Red Shield Appeal 2019 - Volunteers Needed -Bathurst

If you love the rewarding feeling of giving back with others in your local community, The Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal is a meaningful and exciting opportunity to get involved.

We are looking for people to volunteer a few hours for the Red Shield Appeal.

We have a number of volunteer roles available, for every level of experience during this national campaign, held in May each year. This nationwide appeal draws in volunteers and generous donors from every neighbourhood in Australia, each driven to do their part to make a real difference to those experiencing homelessness, addiction and crisis.

This is an exceptional opportunity both for those who are seasoned in community engagement and volunteering, or for someone new to volunteering that would like to give back with this respected and well-known organisation.

The roles available include (but not limited to): Community Collectors  Dates and shift details are dependent on the location and available activity. Most activities take place 22nd and 26th May 2019

Below are more reasons you’ll want to get involved, for these services wouldn’t exist without the fundraising activities of The Red Shield Appeal. Red Shield Appeal directly funds the following social services:·

  • Family welfare assistance
  • Refuge for women and children in crisis
  • Homeless shelters
  • Youth drop-in centres and support programs
  • Emergency and disaster relief
  • Drug and alcohol rehabilitation
  • Employment services and training programs
  • Rural and outback chaplains
  • Court and prison chaplains

Suitable For: All types of volunteers including families, corporate groups, all age groups and abilities. People with experience in community engagement or fundraising are particularly encouraged to apply

Other requirements: Integrity checks may be a requirement of the role. Training will be provided with induction and on-going support

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside others as you raise funds, making a real and positive difference to those experiencing homelessness, addiction and crisis through the support and services of The Salvation Army.
