The program Jeays Street Community Centre provides a range of services to connect people with their wider community. The aim of Jeays Street Community Centre is to build social connectedness among the local community by providing a safe and open space where community members are able to access formal and informal community-based support, be involved in community-led initiatives and develop meaningful social networks. The Centre's programs encourage community connections and promote social supports by providing; community based recreational activities, education and training opportunities, community engagement and volunteer opportunities, information, support and referral services and a space for community gatherings.

The opportunity Jeays Street Community Centre exists to build social connectedness among the local community by providing a safe and open space.  The Community and Activities Worker will be primarily responsible for organizing and facilitating different activities at the centre, supporting people who visit the centre to participate in activities, meaningfully engaging people who ‘drop in’ to the centre and supporting people to access service information. The Community and Activities worker will also work alongside the Community Engagement Officer and other volunteers to support the smooth operation of the centre.

The impact As a Community & Activities Coordinator Volunteer, you will be able to connect, learn, listen and teach community members, experiencing social isolation and vulnerability.
