Volunteer Manager
Bicycles for Humanity MelbourneBicycles for Humanity is a voluntary, not-for- profit organisation that collects disused bicycles and ships them to communities in need. The bicycles change lives forever by improving basic mobility for access to health care and education, and increasing economic productivity. The container then becomes a pre-built bicycle workshop providing employment opportunities.
We are looking for a Volunteer Manager to join our team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Liaising with the Committee to determine resourcing needs
- Recruiting new volunteers, including writing, posting and promoting opportunities; screening candidates to assess suitability
- Recruiting activities including preparing new volunteer offer documents, new volunteer check-ins and liaising with mentors
- Responding to volunteer enquiries via the B4H Inbox
- Attending packing days
- Preparing Volunteer Manager reports for the Committee Meetings
- Maintaining volunteer records
- Maintaining policies, procedures and volunteer handbook
- Monitoring health and safety practices
- Keeping up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes
- Mentoring and guiding our Volunteer Administrator
Who we are looking for:
- Strong human resources and/or volunteer coordination experience
- Relevant degree qualification
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people
- Excellent communication skills
- A confident self-starter with initiative
