Volunteer Driving Supervisor
Digital Literacy FoundationVolunteer as a Driving Supervisor for learner drivers between 16-21 years old who don't have access to a car or supervising driver, and help them complete the 120 hours of supervised driving experience needed to be eligible to obtain their P-plates.
Shifts are 2 hours per week, days and times are flexible according to the volunteer's availability.
Volunteer Driving Supervisors will provide practical support to young people through the driving mentor program by:
- Modelling appropriate driving skills.
- Questioning the young person on road rules before and during driving sessions.
- Encouraging the young person to develop the right attitude for driving.
- Sitting with young person whenever they are driving.
- Demonstrating and instructing the young person on how to check tyres and put petrol into the car.
- Completing client’s Log Book after each driving session and completing the Log Book for the organisation's car.
- Maintaining professional boundaries with young person
- Representing the organisation positively and acting as a positive role model in all interactions in the community.
