About the Program Jesuit Social Services engages with people from diverse backgrounds experiencing complex problems, including those associated with mental illness, substance misuse, family breakdown, offending behavior, homelessness, unemployment, poverty and social exclusion.   Jesuit Social Services operates a range of programs for disadvantaged young people, families and communities from various operational sites. The Sunshine site is the base for Jesuit Social Services’ Housing and Complex Needs programs including Individual Support Program, Link Youth Justice Housing Program, Connexions dual diagnosis program and the Settlement Program.

About the Role Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • To provide front desk reception duties at the Sunshine Office
  • To  provide administrative assistance to the Housing and Complex Needs program staff
  • To be the first point of contact for participants and visitors to the office, as well as for other Jesuit Social Services staff

**Outline **of volunteer's responsibilities:

  • Responding to phone calls, taking messages and responding to general enquiries.
  • Greeting and assisting visitors to the building
  • Collecting, sorting and distributing incoming  and outgoing mail
  • Assisting with setting up/cleaning up meeting rooms
  • Photocopying and filing as required
  • Support the management of the fleet of vehicles
  • Providing a range of administrative support to the Housing and Complex Needs team as required
  • Compliance with relevant legislation
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement processes
  • Other duties, as required

**Volunteer Requirements ** To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Understanding and sympathy with the mission and ethos of Jesuit Social Services Commitment and ability to work effectively with disadvantaged young people, their families and the community
  • Valid Working with Children Check Card
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Successful Interview and Police Check Conducted by Jesuit Social Services prior to commencement
