Unit Commander - Bellingen Unit

NSW State Emergency Service
Logo for NSW State Emergency Service

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is an emergency and rescue service made up almost entirely of volunteers and supported by a small staff contingent. NSW SES is a key influencer of other emergency service agencies and works closely with these partners to modernise and grow volunteering to save lives and protect communities. While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state.

The NSW SES is seeking a motivated and experienced leader for the position of Unit Commander at Bellingen Unit. This is a volunteer position and the successful applicant will be responsible for leading, supporting and coordinating volunteers in preparation for and in response to emergencies within their area of operations and in other areas as required. The NSW SES provides nationally accredited training, state of the art equipment and resources to carry out your duties. In addition, the NSW SES provides opportunities for deployments across NSW during major operations where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance your skills. This is a leadership role ideally suited to persons with an emergency services or management background.

Strong leadership skills, experience with people management, as well as communication and decision making skills are key to success in this role. You will be supported by staff from the Northern Zone Command Office and an experienced NSW SES mentor.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
