Please Note: As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the level of coverage for volunteers due to various restrictions to ensure they are covered for the roles they will be undertaking.
Tassie Mums needs volunteers to help sort incoming donations ensuring they meet our high quality and safety expectations.
Sorted donations are then placed into bundles/packages by age and gender. Clothing Bundles include a full years worth (summer and winter) of clothing which may be 70-100 items as well as age appropriate toys and books.
Full 'How to bundle' guidelines are provided, we recommend first time volunteers visit our Taroona headquarters to learn first hand from a Team Leader how to create bundles. Volunteers are then welcome to visit HQ during our sessions (roster changes monthly) or do some Home Bundling - taking home items to bundle and bringing them back within a 2 week time frame.
Tassie Mums welcomes all volunteers male/female 18 years plus, mothers, fathers, grandparents. We welcome children to join caregivers and we have a small children's play area, change table, bouncer, highchair and kitchenette area. Older children enjoy learning to sort and bundle particularly when it is for a child of a similar age. There is plenty of free parking and we are also wheelchair accessible.
