As part of the federally funded Community Visiting Scheme, compassionate, caring and friendly volunteers are needed to visit with residents in an aged care facility in Lewisham.

The visits are purely about social interaction, to provide some joy and connection in a lonely person's life. A commitment of at least 1 hour a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so that trust and a friendly rapport can be developed between the visitor and the resident.

The role is very flexible and no set time or day is needed, as long as a fortnightly visit can be met. Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time in conversation, who are reliable, have good English speaking skills and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply.
