Volunteer Orientation Assistant
Volunteering SA&NTVolunteering SA&NT is a not-for-profit organisation, the peak body for volunteering and a volunteer resource centre, leading the sector in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Volunteering SA&NT is working in partnership with AMES Australia to recruit volunteers to assist AMES Australia staff in supporting newly arrived migrants and refugees resettle in Adelaide.
AMES Australia is a not-for-profit organisation which works with new arrivals, the community, business and Government to provide a comprehensive range of sustainable and effective settlement services for diverse communities. AMES Australia is looking to hire 2 Office & Administration Support Volunteers for their Adelaide office and 2 for their Salisbury office.
Volunteer Orientation Assistant tasks may include:
- Assist in the delivery of information sessions on a range of settlement topics in line with program requirements.
- Support with facilitating client engagement with the orientation materials including presentations, practical activities, role plays and the use of digital tools.
- Engage children in activities to support parents to focus on the settlement topics being delivered.
- Assist clients to appropriately utilise hardware such as laptops, tablets and other digital tools.
- Support Orientation Coordinator to set-up Orientation Room appropriately for different orientation group sessions.
- Generate and compile attendance sheets, and prepare information resources for clients.
- Gather formal and informal client feedback on Orientation Program.
- Appropriately report incidents such as client illness or challenging behaviours.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery and facilitation of the Orientation Program.
