The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with volunteers, paid staff members and community members accessing the centre. Human resources and management experience would be highly advantageous. Nambour Community Centre is a culturally diverse workplace and community members accessing the centre come from varied cultures and backgrounds.

The main goal of the Volunteer Co-ordinator is to ensure Nambour Community Centre has enough volunteers to fulfil daily activities and to ensure all volunteers feel supported.

• Recruitment – through Volunteering Sunshine Coast, networking, word of mouth, newsletter and social media

• Orientation and Training – conduct orientation sessions and settle new volunteers into their roles and assist in training (alongside the Co-ordinator/other volunteers), arrange volunteers to attend training provided by other organisations

• Reporting – maintain accurate records of volunteers, assessments, reviews and surveys

• Rostering – liaise with volunteers and program co-ordinators to ensure appropriate volunteers are in attendance to carry out duties on a daily basis and for events

• Communicate - Develop a communication process that keeps volunteers up to date and connected for example email, text messages and regular afternoon teas or gatherings

This position involves a great deal of contact with and co-ordinating other people, so the candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and organisational skills.

A Blue Card is not a requirement for this position however we are able to support the volunteer in applying for one if they choose to.
