This Volunteer Shift Supervisor opportunity is based at our Dee Why store. WE ARE CENTRELINK APPROVED & WARMLY WELCOME NEW START APPLICANTS.

Volunteering as a Supervisor is a fun, rewarding & fulfilling experience. You’ll be supervising the daily operations of a Save the Children Op shop with the support of the State Retail Management Team. Our Op Shops welcome a diverse team with varied skill sets. You will be able to assist other volunteers that are learning the ropes as well as creating a fun, happy and warm store environment that our volunteers love to work in and our customers love to shop in.

We want our Op Shops to be known as a great place to work as well as a welcoming place to shop! We understand that we can all make a difference to our team environment, to make it a warm, rewarding and a fun place to be!

Where you come in: You will be trained to assist with the onboarding and training of new volunteers, open and close the store including the cash register, ensure takings are banked consistently, assist with roster coverage as well as supervising the basic daily store operations.

To create a welcoming environment for our customers, all-volunteer team members are committed to providing great customer service and participate in the general housekeeping of our store.

You will make an impact by: • Supporting and guiding the volunteer team including inducting new volunteers. • Providing a high level of friendly customer service. • Daily operations including opening/closing, banking, processing donations and overseeing rosters. • Maintaining Visual merchandising and housekeeping standards.

Our ideal candidate will be: • Able to work required hours • Organised and reliable. • Experienced in retail, leadership or customer service. • Able to coach, develop and support new volunteers. • Able to create a fun, engaging environment for both volunteers and customers. • Friendly, positive, energetic and passionate about people!!

As well as Volunteer Supervisors, we are also always looking for Volunteer Retail Assistants to join our friendly team. Retail experience is not required, however, an ability to work a shift from 4 to 7.5 hours is required.

CONFIRMED VOLUNTEERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO: • Give permission for Save the Children to undertake a National Police Record Check and provide 100 points of identification • Read and accept the Save the Children Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
