Are you passionate about supporting older community members experiencing loneliness? Are you a good listener?

Our Friends (an older person who is experiencing social isolation) are matched with a Volunteer Companion and they meet up for a couple of hours a week to build a friendship that supports social connection within the local community.

While the support is simple in its nature it is crucial in its kind; by providing invaluable face to face connection and friendship, our Friends are supported to expand their social experiences and build their community networks.

Group61 Companion duties include:

• Provide reliable, positive support and friendship to Friend
• Meet regularly and maintain excellent communications with Friend
• Support and encourage Friend to link in with local community
• Attend regular group catch up with other Volunteers in their region
• Provide a monthly report on region to the Area Coordinator
• Attend some of the Group61 social events.

Group61 is a lovely, welcoming and rewarding service to volunteer in, where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally.
