Our store environment is friendly and warm and our volunteers come from a diverse background, creating a wonderful experience where we all work together as a team and support each other as well as our customers. We encourage our volunteers to have fun which creates a fabulous atmosphere to work in and shop in! WE ARE CENTRELINK APPROVED - WE WARMLY WELCOME NEW START APPLICANTS.

There’s so much for you to get stuck into when you’re volunteering in our shops. You'll be rolling up your sleeves in the back room to sort donations, hang & steam clothing and price donations ready for the shop floor. We all share the housekeeping duties & participate in keeping the store tidy & organised so that our displays are easy to browse.

You will be using the cash register (don't worry, we'll show you how) and most importantly, serving our valued customers.

We want our Op Shops to be known as a great place to volunteer as well as a welcoming place to shop! We understand that we can all make a difference to our team environment, to make it a warm, rewarding and a fun place to be!

Ideally, Our volunteers work 1 - 3 days per week, either full day (7.5 hrs) or half day shift (4-5 hrs).

You will be:

Punctual, reliable and honest. Have good interpersonal and communication skills. Have a good knowledge of basic arithmetic and/or basic cash handling skills. Be willing to work as part of a team. Your willingness to learn and a positive attitude is more important than any previous experience you may have. At Save the Children Op Shops, we will provide all the training you’ll need!

STORE OPENING HOURS: Mon - Sat: 9:00am - 4:30pm

CONFIRMED VOLUNTEERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

• Give permission for Save the Children to undertake a National Police Record Check and provide 100 points of identification.
• Read and accept the Save the Children Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
• Undertake essential Training including an Induction and Orientation.
