Key Duties:

• Provide emergency response to fire and/or road crash incidents, land search and other key activities as part of a team
• Participate in scheduled checks and maintenance to essential equipment and Unit appliances
• Attend and participate at scheduled training sessions

Skills learnt:

• Work as a member of a team
• Fire behaviour and suppression techniques
• Familiarisation with the Unit's fire appliances and fire/ rescue equipment
• Use of hydraulic rescue equipment and road crash rescue techniques
• General rescue skills - use of ladders, hand tools, ropes
• Urban and land search techniques
