The Salvation Army Dingley Village is a thriving church and plays an active role in the local community, providing a place of worship, support services and programs. Dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for all, the volunteer Garden and Maintenance role plays an important part in the life and ministry of Dingley Village Corps.

The volunteer gardener is needed to help to maintain our centre's community garden and grounds - weeding, mowing grass, pruning and general tidying, keeping the garden and other outdoor areas free of weeds, and sweeping concreted areas. Suggesting and implementing garden improvements to enhance the overall ambiance of the garden and surrounds is another important part of this role.

Community and inclusion are important to the values of The Salvation Army and the ideal candidate will;

  • have experience in gardening and/or maintenance
  • general handyperson skills
  • good interpersonal skills and willingness to work with people from a diversity of backgrounds
  • ability and willingness to work singly or in a small team
  • a willingness to work within the ethos and values of The Salvation Army
