We are looking for people with varied backgrounds who possess a range of different skill sets and values, that include but are not limited to:

• Able to show initiative, be a team player, able to take and give clear instructions.
• With a desire to undertake self-development, support community engagement
• And a desire to mentor and assist new volunteers

Key duties of a volunteer firefighter include but are not limited to:

• Attending a variety of emergency and non-urgent situations that are all different and challenging in nature 
• Attending weekly checks, drills and monthly meetings
• Engage in self-development opportunities provided by DFES and the brigade
• Engage in community engagement
• A desire to gain knowledge about our firefighting appliances and their operation
• Learn to operate a wide variety of equipment such as the Jaws of Life.
