AGA’s training is essential. Abortion related mental illness fits within the models of Post-Traumatic stress Disorder and Dis-enfranchised or Pathological grief with its peculiarities.
Insights into abortion trauma/grief is relevant to other traumas, and skills learnt are transferable to other forms of griefs/traumas.
Volunteers need to be mature, compassionate, able to listen, take corrective feedback and respect AGA’s non-political, non-religious policy and non-involvement in the provisions of abortion.

    * May be arranged via the Organisation. Details to be provided on expression of interest.

AGA is seeking volunteers to fill a variety of roles including Male & Female Phone Support Counsellors, Admin Assistants, Community Liaison Officers, Youth Workers, Writers, Team Support Members and Graphic/Film/Audio/Web/Social Media/Technology Support.

AGA engages with the volunteers to help identify skills, gifts, and experience the volunteer has, and how they wish to utilise their time and talent.

Trained volunteers may work from home or at at AGA’s office. It is not a requirement of AGA’s training that trainees volunteer for AGA, nor does AGA commit to take on volunteers trained.
