Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services Inc

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) aims to enrich the quality of life of recipients who may be socially isolated or lonely; whether for social or cultural reasons or due to disability. We are recruiting CVS Volunteers to conduct regular home visits to seniors receiving Home Care Package Services or living in residential aged care facilities (nursing homes).

Must be able to speak Croatian.

For nursing home visits: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and maybe weekends. For home visits: NA

Requirements

Driver's Licence (C)
National Police Certificate

1.A commitment to building and sustaining a friendship with an older isolated person over an extended period; 2. Ability to adhere to set policies and procedures; 3. Demonstrated genuine empathy, understanding and enjoyment of older people; 4. Effective communication and listening skills; 5. Demonstrated reliability and flexibility; 6. Ability to work independently; 7. Willing to seek advice, as appropriate; and 8. Must be able to speak Croatian
