Police checks are required for all volunteers and working with children checks for child related roles. A volunteer will not be automatically disqualified on the basis of having a negative police check. Consideration will be given to the relevance and timing of the offence. The results of these checks are treated in strictest confidence.

The Carrington Health walking group is a 60 minute physical activity program that runs in the community every week. This role is important for the physical health and social well being of our Walking Group. The Walking Group Volunteer will help coordinate social aspects and events of the Walking Group, and will take a lead role in encouraging and supporting members of the group during walking activities. The volunteer will assist group members with walking pace and ensuring that all walkers are safe and accounted for at the end of the walk. You need to be physically fit enough to walk long distances (at least 3kms) and friendly and sociable. You need to have the ability to recognize limitations of individual participants and have an understanding of the National Heart Foundation Walking Program.
