We need a Delivery driver to transport donated goods for our Emergency Relief operation. Responsibilities include: • Safe, lawful driving of a van • Pick-up and delivery of donations • Loading/unloading in a safe manner • Ensuring all procedures are carried out in compliance with WHS regulations • Ensuring all rubbish is safely stored and disposed of in a prompt manner • Ensuring transport area and vehicles are maintained and kept in a neat, tidy and clean condition • Report mechanical problems with vehicles to the supervisor • Always wear a name badge or other identification • A neat appearance and appropriate footwear

The selected applicant will demonstrate communication skills effective enough to engage with diverse groups of people, and respect confidentiality in relation to Uniting customers, staff and volunteers (both during rostered shifts and outside volunteering hours). Reliability, punctuality and initiative essential.

About the Program

The Emergency Relief program contributes to addressing emergency situations that impact people living within our communities through the collection of food and other goods such as blankets and clothing, which is then distributed at various emergency relief outlets across the greater Hobart region.
