The organisation

CIMF is a not for profit community organisation which presents the annual Canberra International Music Festival, one of Australia’s’ leading classical and contemporary art music festivals.

From its beginnings as a local community initiative, the Festival has grown into a ten day event with a national reputation for innovation and excellence. CIMF will present its 25th annual festival in 2019.

The Festival is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, ArtsAct and Events ACT.

The role and skills required

CIMF is seeking an individual with a background in accounting and financial management skills to fill the position of Treasurer. As a member of our Board the Treasurer will:

• Assist in setting the strategic vision for the organisation; • Keep the Board informed as needed of the organisation’s financial position; • Ensure CIMF’s financial records are ready for the annual audit and that financial statements are prepared for audit; • Prepare and present the Treasurers’ Report and audited financial statements to the Annual General Meeting; • Liaising with our General Manager and Office and Finance Manager about governance and oversight of day-to-day financial management.

The Board meets bi-monthly. The Treasurer is Chair of the finance and audit committee.
