Computers4Learning (C4L) is a volunteer run not for profit charity organization that refurbishes donated computers. Enabling community based associations, clubs, students and concession card holders - access to low cost computers.

C4L respects all volunteer’s rights – young and old. As such: special attention is expected towards children and young people under 18, persons with disabilities, and having a courteous consideration for all.

The General Manager: Is responsible for the overall control of all day to day operations. Reports to Chairperson/Board: Operations (usually bi-monthly). Controls all distribution of assets: Final approval for requests and allocations. Contact for computer donations (organizations and private), likewise Customer Service liaison. Controls security at workshop. Coordinates volunteer employment: Oversees Blue Card requirements, training and volunteer register. Blue Card Signatory for C4L. Liaise with outside assistance and represent C4L at business and club presentations. Coordinate transport for delivery and/or pickup of donated equipment and client computers. Must be flexible and approachable. To be available as the job position requires.

Skills and attributes will require: Vast knowledge of computers both hardware and software applicable to equipment that can run Windows/Ubuntu operating systems. Understanding of Information Technology and server link imaging of computer systems. Understanding of refurbishment process: Hard disc erasure, through to operating system and software install. Understanding of Microsoft Registered Refurbisher Program (MRRP) compliance.

A certificate in Business Administration or office experience would be an advantage. Ability to instruct and coordinate training of volunteers and students (work experience): In all aspects of running C4L and computer refurbishment. Provide business guidance in all facets of PCBU operations. Commitment to compliance in all matters regarding Work Health and Safety at C4L – a harm and injury free environment. Ability to communicate with other volunteers and visitors. Ability to assist Disabled Persons and Persons underage. Have or be able to attain Blue Card Positive Notice.

It is envisioned that the applicant should possess the above stated criteria; Training in some areas may be arranged if applicable. In addition to Blue Card applications processes if required.
