Arthritis Ambassadors
Arthritis QueenslandArthritis Ambassadors draw upon their personal experiences to raise awareness of arthritis in their local community through presenting to a range of community groups.
The role plays a vital role in helping us to raise public awareness of arthritis, its risk factors and impacts. Arthritis Ambassadors are specially trained to deliver community presentations.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver presentations to community groups and organisations within your local area • Promote the Ambassador Program within your local community • Organise, with the assistance of Arthritis Queensland, presentations in your local community • Adhere to Arthritis Queensland's organisational rules and positions on key issues (covered in training).
Our ideal volunteer will: • Have lived with arthritis for at least two years • Be an engaging and confident public speaker • Be comfortable sharing their own story of living with arthritis • Be passionate about raising arthritis awareness in the community • Be a positive role model to those with, or at risk of arthritis, and optimistic about current approaches to treatment • Be open to continual learning and constructive criticism designed to improve our services
