What We’re Looking For Positively Transforming World (PTW) are looking for professionals with experience in law and compliance to develop, support and maintain the legal, compliance and ethical conduct of PTW and lead the Legal team at PTW.

About Us PTW is a 100% skill-based volunteer-run-and-operated organization providing international aid through Health and Education. Our mission is to empower the world with quality health and education. All staff, and therefore all volunteers provide at least 3 hours of service weekly to PTW in their respective role and volunteer from their own hometown. All positions within PTW are volunteer roles. Role Type This role can be completed online/via remote access with commitment to meetings with PTW Directors. This role has flexible commitment hours with 3 hours of volunteering minimum each week and is also flexible around your preferred days and times. This role requires volunteers from a wide range of skillsets and experiences within Law. This role is ideal for people with experience or passion for management or leadership roles and ideally suited for people passionate about Not-For-Profit and Charity law in Australia.

The Opportunity The legal Director is responsible for all fund management within PTW. This includes:

  • Reviewing and developing the internal rules, policies and procedures of PTW in accordance with gold-standard international ethical practices and PTW’s own ethics and principles
  • Develop and implement frameworks for ensuring compliance towards rules, regulations and laws PTW must operate by whilst upholding PTW’s own principles and standard of practice
  • Provide high-end business and legal advice, and develop and implement creative legal strategies within PTW to ensure safe standard of practice across all PTW operations
  • Oversee and ensure an acceptable standard of care that is reasonably practicable is provided to volunteers and public supported through PTW work
  • Provide legal support and guidance to project teams to help achieve their objectives
  • Guide and lead our finance and HR teams to ensuring PTW meets ATO, ACNC and other relevant accreditation requirements and standards
  • Assist in developing strategic legal frameworks that strengthens and increases volunteering interest, donor interest and sponsorship or partnership interest
  • Oversee and manage other volunteers within the Legal Department of PTW

Who This Role Is Suited For This role is suited but not limited to professionals with experience in law, community legal support, paralegals, legal practitioners and professionals with legal experience in health, education, volunteering or non-profit sectors.
