SA Transport Driver Volunteer - Adelaide

The program The purpose of the Social Support program is to strengthen people’s capacity to participate in community life, maintain or regain independence and stay living in their own home for longer. Volunteers are required to pick up and transport clients using an electronic device. They will ensure clients receive a safe, courteous and respectful onboard experience and they will always be mindful of the clients health, wellbeing, cultural background and lived experience.

The opportunity For this role, you are required to have a current full Australian drivers license and an excellent driving record. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with a broad range of people including the elderly, individuals living with disabilities, disadvantaged, socially isolated and culturally diverse clients. You will also be confident using electronic devices including tablets and smartphones. You will transport and support clients to attend medical appointments, allied health consultations and social engagements.

The impact As a volunteer driver, you will brighten the day of the clients by providing a positive and respectful experience and in return, you will meet some wonderful people. We offer 2 days of on the job training prior to commencing and ongoing training opportunities as required.
