MOBILE LAUNDRY/SHOWER VOLUNTEERS

Liverpool Volunteer Resource Centre
Logo for Liverpool Volunteer Resource Centre

A not for profit Organisation that provides a free laundry and shower service, is seeking Volunteers.

Their absolute objective is about creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored, or who feel disconnected from the community. To date they have provided 90,571 loads of washing, 7,427 warm showers and, most importantly, 148,706 hours of genuine and non-judgemental conversation.

Volunteers have one of the most significant roles – to provide genuine and non-judgemental conversation and connection to the friends of this amazing service. Volunteers are not expected to be social workers or experts on homelessness, but they must be empathetic listeners and great conversationalists.

Generally Volunteers assist friends to access the services and have a chat - it’s that simple! In the hour that it takes to do a load of laundry, you can make a positive connection and a lasting impact on a person’s life, through down-to-earth conversation.

Volunteers are required Tuesdays 5pm-7.30pm, Saturdays 8am-10.30am and Sundays 5pm-7pm, approximately. All Volunteers will attend a 1.5 hour orientation and induction before commencement of role.  A commitment of 2-3 hours once a week, or fortnight, is all it takes.

If you love a chat and would like to be a part of this inspiring team, we would love to hear from you!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
