Safe Pets Safe FamiliesWe’re looking for part time In-Take Coordinators. The position is voluntary and you will have ongoing support. As a in take coordinator, you are the first point of call for people accessing the charities services. Our phone lines are open 24/7 and we need someone who is capable of being present for at least two days a week to those who need our help. We are looking for calm, focused and dedicated people who are comfortable talking to those in vulnerable situations. Once a client has established contact with the organisation, it will be your responsibility to contact and case manager coordinator and/or case managers. You will also oversee the Fosters that work with the organisation and liaise with the Chief Executive Officer and Counsellor. This is a demanding position but with the chance to work from home, it’s also a rewarding role.
Requirements: • Experience working with people who are in vulnerable situations or with mental illness • Confident phone manner • Excellent communication skills • Able to work when the pressure is on • Ability to work two full days and nights a week • Friendly and warm manner • Patience with people and situations • Takes initiative and is able to work autonomously • Comfortable communicating with fellow volunteers • Good communication and able to keep up with daily changes to situations • Sense of emergency in a crisis • Own transport and ability to attend callouts at the last minute Responsibilities: • On call two full days and nights per week • Friendly and patient phone manner • Crisis Assessment and planning • Use own personal judgment in crisis situations • Knows the policy and procedure thoroughly • Experience and confidence in immediate action • Liaise with Fosters and Case Managers through Social Media and Phone communication • Some transport needs may be required (picking up of pets, dropping off). This can sometimes be an emergency and you will need to be able to drop everything to attend
