YOUR NEW FAMILY: Orange Sky Australia, founded in 2014 by friends Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, is a not-for-profit organisation providing free mobile laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness. Through a network of 29+ vans and 1500+ amazing volunteers, our services are now positively connecting communities all around Australia.

We are currently looking for applicant for our Assistant Service Manager role who can help us continue to change the lives of our friends on the street every day!

ABOUT THE ROLES: The Assistant Service Manager is each responsible for the management of up to approx. 5 shifts.

Primary Tasks Include:

  • Monitor & support daily operations for your allocated shifts
  • Consistently monitoring & promotion of safe work practices
  • On-boarding of new team leaders
  • On-boarding of new general volunteers
  • Ensure communication platform is established for each team - prefer Whats App
  • Check Shift Reports and action as required
  • Mentor, encourage & support team leaders
  • Monthly check ins with Team Leader via phone or visit shift
  • Consistently monitor 'Shifts' screen Portal for allocated shifts
  • Manage Amber & Green Incidents for your allocated shifts
  • Fortnightly check in with SM
  • Monthly check in with MSO
  • Visit at least 2 shifts per month
  • Step in at Service Manager as required
  • Represent Orange Sky at speaking engagements & events
  • Step in as Team Leader or General Volunteer as required, pending availability
  • Other adhoc tasks allocated by the MSO/SM

Reports to the Service Manager

Commitment: Up to 5-10 flexible hours per week but can vary pending demands on service
