Our client is an older woman who lives in the Morphett Vale area who would like to go out and enjoy social engagement with others, but has limited opportunity to do so.

We seek a volunteer who can offer a few hours weekly or fortnightly to assist our client to connect independently to her local community environment. Enjoy a cuppa and provide valued social support, whilst out and about together at the local shops; our client enjoys a chat across has a diverse range of interests.

Must be willing to transport a wheelchair in own vehicle. (Client can transfer independently in and out of vehicle).

The St John Community Care program enlists the help of caring volunteers to give their time, skills and experience to create opportunities with clients who are experiencing social isolation. We seek volunteers who enjoy the company of others, who are patient and willing to help support our clients to maintain their independence. This enables clients to feel a sense of meaning, purpose and enjoyment in life.

Volunteers are matched one to one with a client based on personality, shared skills, interests and geographical area. A consistent commitment is required for our clients, as such we can tailor a schedule to fit in with your lifestyle and availability.
