The Sunshine Coast Environment Council is the peak environmental advocacy organisation on the Sunshine Coast, and has been protecting the Sunshine Coast environment for 40 years. We have organised the WED Festival since its inception. We advocate for better environmental policy, support local groups on campaigns to protect our natural landscape and marine environments, and encourage action on climate change through education and community engagement. With over 50 member groups, we strive to make a real difference on the Sunshine Coast.

The Volunteer Coordinator's role is to: • Secure the volunteers required for the day of the Festival via SCEC volunteer registers, website applications, social media promotion and volunteer organisations • Volunteer roles include set-up, raffle ticket sales, survey team, traffic marshalls, Scec info tent staff, bar staff, water bottle sales, pack-down • Allocate volunteer roles • Update WED master file with volunteer details • Provide effective communication to volunteers in the lead up to the event (reminders, requirements etc.) • Manage and direct volunteers at the Festival on June 2nd, 2019 8 am - 6 pm.
