Purpose of the Position

To provide frail, older people with access to meals through delivery to clients' homes. To provide a companionship and monitoring role to people who may be socially isolated

Main Duties·

Collect frozen/fresh/hot meals from Food Services at times and frequency, as mutually agreed according to the Food Services roster. Deliver meals to clients in their homes in a timely manner. Demonstrate friendly visiting by engaging in supportive and positive conversations with clients, to monitor wellbeing and promote social inclusion. Ensure food service equipment is returned to staff promptly.

Other Responsibilities:

To respect clients' privacy and confidentiality, ie, matters relating to your client must not be discussed with anyone other than Food Services staff)· To make Food Services staff aware of client feedback for continuous improvement opportunities, or problems that you, or your client may be experiencing which may affect service delivery. To respect and encourage the clients' differing needs for independence. To advise Food Services staff if you are unavailable for your rostered days to deliver meals. To bring to the attention of Food Services staff any client concerns that may need attention (it is not the responsibility of the volunteer to follow up these issues)· Comply with WHS regulations and volunteer policies.

Skills and Personal Qualifications:

A caring attitude towards older people and those with a disability. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication skill.
