Meals on Wheels Drivers - Canterbury Area

Help your local older community by: reducing isolation and loneliness by providing a friendly face, delivering nutritious meals and checking in on client’s welfare.
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Be of a friendly nature engaging in conversation whilst delivering meals
- Use of own fully insured Vehicle, (to be kept clean with sufficient space for 2 medium sized eskies)
- Use of own mobile phone to contact office/clarify any delivery concerns
- Be available at 11.30am to collect meals from Canterbury
- Commitment of 1 ½ to 2 hours per shift (returning to Canterbury at completion of rounds)
- Willingness to complete a free online food safety training course, providing a copy of your certification prior to attending onsite induction/training
Skills and Experience:
- Comfortable driving in the local area, (maps are provided for the distribution rounds)
- Enjoy getting out, meeting new people and helping others in the community
- Show respect, empathy and consideration for others
- Happy to accommodate changes to the way meals are delivered (changing delivery requirements due to COVID concerns)
