Volunteer Design Lab Coordinator

Role Responsibilities:

  • Set up Design Lab for daily production
  • Oversee production and quality control
  • Supervise craft teachers and Sister Entrepreneurs
  • Source raw materials for production (selection of suitable materials, managing the order and delivery of same)
  • Calculate cost of goods

Desired experience and qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar supervisory role e.g. running craft workshops
  • Prior experience working with people with migrant, asylum seeker and/or refugee backgrounds
  • Prior experience in selection and buying of craft materials
  • Prior experience in the production of limited batch/handmade clothing, accessories and homewares

Compulsory requirements:

  • Working with Children Check and/or Police Check (if you do not have one, you can apply for one free of cost)
  • Own laptop
  • Knowledge of various craft materials (e.g. types of fabrics and other raw materials typically used in the creation of clothing, accessories and homewares – see our online shop for examples of the type of products we produce)
  • Solid computer skills (Excel, Gmail, online ordering)
  • Medium to advanced skills in sewing, knitting and crocheting
