Volunteer Design Lab Coordinator
SisterWorks Inc.Role Responsibilities:
- Set up Design Lab for daily production
- Oversee production and quality control
- Supervise craft teachers and Sister Entrepreneurs
- Source raw materials for production (selection of suitable materials, managing the order and delivery of same)
- Calculate cost of goods
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Prior experience in a similar supervisory role e.g. running craft workshops
- Prior experience working with people with migrant, asylum seeker and/or refugee backgrounds
- Prior experience in selection and buying of craft materials
- Prior experience in the production of limited batch/handmade clothing, accessories and homewares
Compulsory requirements:
- Working with Children Check and/or Police Check (if you do not have one, you can apply for one free of cost)
- Own laptop
- Knowledge of various craft materials (e.g. types of fabrics and other raw materials typically used in the creation of clothing, accessories and homewares – see our online shop for examples of the type of products we produce)
- Solid computer skills (Excel, Gmail, online ordering)
- Medium to advanced skills in sewing, knitting and crocheting
