The ideal volunteer for this challenging opportunity will have good conversational skills, some computer knowledge, and an interest in supporting older people. An understanding of confidentiality and boundaries is essential.

Our clients are older people who live at home and are socially isolated. The volunteer contacts a client on the phone for conversation and support. The client will have a goal they wish to achieve through the contact call. This may simply be to discuss a topic of interest, do a crossword together or share their week with the volunteer Provide encouragement and support, make a note of the call and contact a team leader with any issues raised during the conversation.

The program runs from our Hoppers Crossing Office.
