The TCC Animal Care and Adoption Centre offers a safe haven for stray and lost animals, providing them food, comfort, enrichment and care until they can be reunited with their owners or adopted into their new forever families through our adoption program.

We appreciate the commitment, enthusiasm and compassion of those who willingly give their time to join our animal shelter family and enrich the daily lives of our animals. Our volunteers make such a difference to the animals in our care by contributing their time, love and energy in caring for our animals. We are delighted to recognise the wonderful hard work volunteers do and appreciate them as valued team members.

The volunteer positions offered will be in the Dog and Cat Adoption areas.

Our "Pawsome" Volunteers will need to be gentle, calm & caring with a genuine love and understanding of animals and people. You will have the ability to work as part of a team with other volunteers under the direction of our staff.

DOG CARE & ENRICHMENT TEAM

This position involves the physical cleaning of the dog pens as required, and also the love, care and enrichment of the dogs in our adoption centre.

This is a hands-on role including:

Pooper scooping, hosing and squeegeeing pens, Bathing and grooming, Feeding and walking the dogs, Cuddles, enrichment and love, Rubbish removal, laundry and general cleaning.

CAT CARE & ENRICHMENT TEAM

This position involves the daily cleaning and care of the cat adoption centre, and its feline residents.

The role involves lots of bending down for:

Sweeping, Cleaning litter trays and food bowls, Washing & replacing bedding & toys, Feeding, General cleaning of the cat adoption centre.

An important part of the role is helping create a calm, reassuring environment to cuddle, groom, soothe and settle our feline friends, prior to them meeting their prospective new families. Our cat volunteers will need to follow procedures and the guidance of our staff.

Volunteers at the TCC Animal Care & Adoption Centre will be appreciated for their love and care, by both the animals and the staff at the Centre. The care that you give to the animals at the centre will make a massive difference to their daily happiness and enrichment, and improve their chances of being adopted into new forever homes.
