Alfred Health and Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Center (MAPrc) are conducting an interventional research study involving the use of Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) as a new treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). To participate in the study you must be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosis of MDD without psychosis, and have been stable on depression medication for at least 4 weeks. Participants will be required to attend weekly treatment sessions at Alfred Hospital for 4 weeks, and to complete questionnaires during treatment and at 1 month after treatment. Each interview will last 30-60 minutes.
