A volunteer Street Food Manager is required to provide food planning and catering support for a bread rescue and distribution charity. We conduct a regular street food stall at various locations around the Inner West to raise funds for our expenses. The menu changes constantly and has included Lebanese shawarma, Indian roti, Aloha burgers, Chinese roujamo, Italian panini and even an occasional Aussie sausage sizzle. Any variety of bread is a staple of our dishes. The successful applicant will plan economical mouth-watering street food snacks, determine the ingredients and quantities to be purchased, and supervise the preparation, cooking and sales to the public.
Duties: - plan a variety of appealing and affordable street food snacks - determine the ingredients and quantities to be sourced - organise logistics with the street food venue - roster and contact volunteers - demonstrate the cooking and assembly of the street food to volunteers - supervise the preparation and production of the street food products
Skills Required • Interest in food and event catering • Experience with a variety of multicultural cuisines • Good planning and organisational skills • Ability to lead and work with a team • Commitment to safe food handling and storage • Ability to work under pressure.
Speak/write reasonable English. Minimum age is 25 years.
